Liposuction takes place under general anesthesia in an accredited private surgical facility. Dr. Reid and the rest of our medical staff will keep your privacy and comfort in mind at all times and will make every effort to ensure your safety.
Dr. Reid performs various body contouring procedures that include liposuction. Dr. Reid will often combine liposuction with a tummy tuck to achieve a trimmer, smoother contour in the abdomen, hips, and waistline. Liposuction can also play a significant role in breast reduction procedures.
The experienced team at Dr. Owen Reid’s plastic surgery center is committed to providing comprehensive, individualized care, the highest level of safety, and optimal results as they guide patients through their journey toward achieving their cosmetic goals.
Once you awaken from your anaesthesia, you will be sent home in the care of a responsible adult – generally a family member or friend. You should arrange for someone to stay with you on the night of your surgery. You will be wearing compression garments at the time of discharge. Surgical drains are not required.
Dr. Reid will provide postoperative instructions after your surgery. These instructions will outline items such as care of the surgical site, showering, medication use, management of compression garments and your return to your normal activities such as work and exercise. He will also provide emergency contact numbers. Although these calls are rarely necessary, somebody will always be available should you need assistance or advice.
Dr. Reid will examine your surgery sites 2-3 days after your liposuction at your first postoperative appointment. We typically schedule additional follow-up appointments at 1 month, 3 months, and 1 year after surgery. Dr. Reid also invites you to make additional appointments to address any concerns you may have.
