Ear piercings can be repaired by Dr. Reid with a minor procedure that is easily tolerated under local anaesthetic (‘freezing’). The original piercing is completely excised and the earlobe is carefully repaired.
The incision is closed with dissolving sutures. A small gauze dressing covers each earlobe for the first day, and after that no dressing is required. Showering and normal activities can be resumed on the day after the procedure.
